Cicero Avenue in Chicago

Today I drove on Cicero Avenue, where Al Capone used to rule last century. I saw the sad face of segregation. Mostly black people for a long stretch, until I started to see some Mexicans. The Chicago Public Schools teachers have been  on strike for more than a week now. Mayor Emanuel already sent the case to law enforcement, because the students are in physical danger.

How come?

Gangs still rule Chicago, and without school some students may die.

Sad.

The NYT has an article, you can read it here.
